The process flow of how is potato starch made includes: Choosing and weighting section, potato cleaning and washing section, grinding section, separation section, concentration and refining section, dehydrating section and drying section.

1.Choosing and weighting section
Before processing, it is important to choose proper potato varieties for furthur processing.The quality of the raw potato have an great influence on the final starch quality for how is potato starch made. Therefore it will be better to choose high quality potato. After choosing,the collected potato is weighted and stored in the potato yard for deep procesing.

2. Raw material cleaning and washing section
The weighted potato is transported into the potato cleaning machine by the conveyor. In the cleaning process of how is potato starch made, the dirt, small stone and other impurities will be cleaned. Then it goes into the rotary washing machine to remove the attached sand, dirt and other impurities. In order to achieve washing effect, the secondary washing process can be carried out.

3. Potato grinding section

Multiple screening or countercurrent washing processes are generally adopted for how is potato starch made. It is required that after the separating and washing process for extraction of starch from potato procedure, and the starch content of the residue should less than 35%. And fine fiber sieve is also used to further remove the small fiber so as to improve the fineness and quality of potato starch.

5. Concentrating and refining section
After separating, the starch milk goes into the concentrating and refining unit to further separating the protein and cell sap.
In this section of how is potato starch made, the starch milk is firstly concerntrated through the hydrocyclone station, while the overflow of cell sap goes into recycling hydrocyclone station to recycle the containing starch.After multi-stage washing it not only ensures the washing effect of the starch but also avoids the loss of starch in the cell sap.

6. Starch milk dehydrating section
After that, the starch need to be dehydrated in the peeler centrifuge for how is potato starch made. The peeler centrifuge is widely used starch dehydration device. The contact material part is made of stainless steel so that the starch will not get polluted. And the filter slot equipped with paddle stirrer to prevent starch deposition.

7. Potato starch drying section
This is mainly used to dry the wet starch to meet the production standards for how is potato starch made. Flash dryer as the drying machine has the features of high thermal efficiency, short drying time and large handling capacity. Drying process requires the particle size of the potato starch in the range of 0.5mm and 0.7mm.
