The disc separator is a vertical centrifuge which mainly use the high speed centrifugal force to accelerate separating process. In centrifugal field force, due to the different specific gravity of the material, the heavy gravity material is deposited on the drum wall and then is discharged outside. While the light liquid flows along the outer cone of the disc to the axis and the upper part and is pumped through the light liquid outlet. Thus, the separation can be achieved.As a cassava starch processing machine, disc separator is mainly composed of import and export device, drum, machine cover, vertical axis, horizontal axis, machine seat, motor and automatic control box. The drum of the disc separator is mounted on the upper end of the vertical shaft. Inside the drum is a set of disc-shaped parts that overlap each other - discs. There is a small gap between the discs. Starch slurry is added to the drum by the feed tube at the center of the drum. When the starch slurry passes through the gap between the discs, the starch sink down to the disc under centrifugation to form a sediment. The sediment slides off the disc along the surface of the disc and accumulates in the part with the largest diameter inside the drum. The separated liquid is discharged from the outlet of the drum. Then the separation of the starch slurry with the protein and cell liquid is done.
