Potato starch manufacturing process can be divided into the following process:
Potato cleaning and washing-crushing-separating-desanding and refining-dewatering-drying and packing
1.Potato cleaning and washing machine
After being weighted and sorted, the fresh potato will be firstly transported into the cleaning machine to clean the sand, small stones, dirt and other impurities.This potato starch manufacturing machine is dry sieve. Then the cleaned potato will be transported into the washing machine. To achieve a better cleaning effect, it will be better to use the rotary washing machine, so that the impurities such as sand, stone, iron items will be thoroughly cleaned.
2.Potato crushing machine-rasper
After cleaning and washing, the potato will be crushed. Through the screw feeder, the potato goes into the rasper which is also an important potato starch manufacturing machine.It can efficient crush potato into potato slurry. Due to the crushing efficiency (the percentage of free starch available) is critical to the overall system rate, a special design has been made for the rasper to achieve the highest possible photo crushing efficiency.
3.Sepateting machine
The crushed photo contains fiber, protein and other impurities, therefore it need to separate the starch from the impurities. Centrifuge sieve is mainly used machine to separate the fiber and starch slurry. The slurry separation is also an important process in starch production which determines the yield of starch. Therefore this process need to be repeat several times to improve the potato starch content.
4. Refining machine
The nest potato starch manufacturing machine is hydrocyclone station. In the potato starch manufacturing process, the protein, small fiber and cell contained in potato starch must be separated out. In this process, the clean process water from the last level cyclone station joins in and mixed with starch milk to wash it, and then the overflow mix with the next level of starch milk to wash. The countercurrent washing cascaded fiber and cell sap with water vortex. Thus ensure the washing effect of the cyclone station, and remove the impurities of fiber, protein and other impurities contained in the starch milk better.
In this way, all the indicators of starch produced can be guaranteed to meet the standards.
5.Dewatering machine
The water content of starch milk coming out of hydrocyclone station is too high to dry directly. Therefore, it is necessary to dehydrate starch milk first to reduce water content of starch. And this potato starch manufacturing machine is the vacuum filter. Vacuum pump makes vacuum negative pressure inside the vacuum drum. When starch milk contacts vacuum drum, starch milk is sucked on the surface, while the filtrate is sucked into the filtrate separation and filtrate pump away. The filter cake is scraped off by the scraper, then is conveyed into feed hopper of flash drier.
6.Drying and packing machine
After dewatering of potato starch manufacturing process, the starch cake is dried in the flash dryer which is the last potato starch manufacturing machine. The wet starch is heated by the hot wind and the water evaporates. After drying, starch is separated from air in a set of cyclone separators. Then the wet air leaves the cyclone separator and is discharged into the atmosphere by the ventilator. While the collected starch is transported by the screw conveyor to the packing unit. And the finished potato starch will be packed for storage.
