Cassava starch processing machine is mainly used for processing cassava into starch which the raw materials of cellulose, protein, inorganic salt, sand and other materials are separated from starch by physical separation process. The mainly used equipment in tapioca processing plant are as follows:
Conveyor, dry sieve, paddle washing machine, rasper, centrifuge sieve, fine fiber sieve, sand removal unit, hydrocyclone unit, peeler centrifuge and flash dryer.

Tapioca processing plant

a. Raw material reception and transportation: In tapioca processing plant, the first point for reception is the weighing of cassava on a platform scale. The main yard conveyor may be a long horizontal band positioned 10 - 20 cm below floor level. In large reception yards more bands may be used to feed the main conveyor.

b. Cleaning and washing: Dry sieve is used for a dry cleaning of the roots prior to the washing step in tapioca processing plant. The dry sieve takes away the stone, sand, weeds and other heavy foreign matters. Then paddle washing machine is engaged in washing away the attached soil, dirt and other impurities.

c. Rasper for cassava crushing: This is the most important step in tapioca processing plant whose function is to crush cassava to release starch as much as possible. Features of cassava starch processing machine for crushing: High crushing rate( more than 94%), high speed, high starch extraction rate, advanced Germany Optibelt and Sweden bearing. The thickness of crushing machine mesh material is 2 mm, which is sturdy and durable.

d. Cassava starch screening: Centrifuge sieve is also an important cassava starch processing machine which is used for separating fibers out of starch slurry. The quality of the screening machine directly affects the recovery rate and quality of the starch in tapioca processing plant. It has the features of compact structure, reliable performance, good screening effect and long service life.

e. Sand removal: In tapioca processing plant, sand removal is used for removing sand content in starch slurry so as to improve the taste of starch. In desander cyclone, the sand is discharged from bottom, while the slurry comes out from the top of the desander, and the fine sand grains in the starch slurry are removed to further improve the starch precision.

f. Concentration and refining: Starch slurry refining is accomplished by hydrocyclone station, which is used for separation of fine slag, protein separation, washing, concentration and refining of starch slurry in tapioca processing plant. This cassava starch processing machine has advantages of compact structure, high separation precision and good sealing effect.

Cassava starch drying machine

g. Starch milk dewatering: Peeler centrifuge is widely used for starch dewatering in tapioca processing plant. Its main function is to reduce water content of cassava milk to 38%-40%.

h. Drying: The dewatered starch is taken to flash dryer for drying in tapioca processing plant. Then the finished starch is packed in bags or in any other airtight containers.
